the problem might be the DVI cable itself. Some of them dont support more then 1920*1080.I am still thinking it might be the driver.I dont remember the Catalyst center a lot but isnt there option to force certain resolutions, color space and frequency in 3D mode?
What about trying to use the VGA analog cable with DVI->VGA converter.I guess the cable come with the monitor and the converter with the card.Sometimes it comes also with LCD.I think it would be wort to try it.
Russians.
The game name was leaked from our country EA webiste and we have nothing common in with Russia at all.We are Czech republic.Seems your geography is not best.
Well but with LFS you can get disconnections within 1 hours several times.Happend to me so many times during years of LFS and I am using very reliable ISP provider in my country.
I dont remember playing other online games(mostly FPS) having any disconnections in like 2-3 hours in a row.
To say something on the good side the LFS net code is amazing because you can have so close racing. There is nothing to complain about basically but the stability is really not top notch now.I am just saying there needs to be done improvements in that area.
I dont want to go a lot offtopic(well its a bit on topic:-) ) but I am seeing with uppered number of allowed drivers on server that the connection bars sometimes go really high for all and the suddenly is someone disconnected. If you will watch the stream you will see it as well.
I am not good in German but I understood there will be english commentary as well.
Also hearing about the various disconnections in the 24H race there needs to be the LFS net code made more stable. Its really needed. The host seems very stable but the clients not:-(. I am playing other online games as well and the disconnections are usually very rare unlike in LFS:-(. I dont think its due to network but rather the LFS net code. This long races really test LFS a lot and can provide nice feedback for further development.
What you mean by the secondary driver.
Did you install the LCD drivers?I know it help in some cases there is resolution problems in XP.
At least you got it now working to 1920*1200 in 16bit so it seems the omega drivers messed it a lot if they didnt allow you to select even the native resolution at leats in 16bit colours. That card support in 3D up to 2048*1536,16.7 million colours.
Do you use D-DVI cable. This is needed for resolution more then 1600*1200.
My [ZT] team in the 1st and 4th postion:bowdown:. ....knock,knock on my desk.
I am realy proud of both teams especially the 2nd one. They were 8th in the midnight and now chance to get 3rd place. This would be nice double for our team.Where are SK noobs....cant see them
Its total arcade game. The physic doesnt exist.Well something yes but I wouldnt call it physic model. When looking at the replays it seems like running at 1.5-2x speed.Looks very weird and the cards looks like floating sometimes a lot.Again missing physic model.
The bloom effect is ennoying a lot for me.
The details of the tracks and cars is more then I expected.LFS need to work a lot on this.
Just for fun it might be nice game but nothing more. The hardware requirements are bloody thought. To run it smooth and having AA+AF you would need NVIDIA 8800 GTS at least for sure.
Its running really slow on my 7900GT running at 7950GT speeds at 1024*768.I have all HIGH except people around the track,no mirrors, medium foliage, low shadows. Not even suing any AA.Running without AA doesnt make the game looking worse unlike LFS due to high-polygon models.Thats + for me
lol,you got answer.Back online on 27th.I guess they sleep now
Elecktrik Kar,
I tried those new textures and I have few notes to add.
Curbs looks too bright. It really make attention to eyes but for me in negative way.The olders are low-res but the overal look is much better/darker.The white on new curbs is really like a stig to my eyes
The new road.Hmm...there is not much details so still looks very plastic as I mentioned already before.Even the original road is lowres I like it more.
There should be obviously made balancing based also on the number of laps/lenght of the race.So lets say for example it will be different for 5 laps race and for longer lap/lenght races.
I have Logitech LX7 mouse. and I am very happy with this mice.
Batteries last about 4 month and works up to 3-4 meters from PC not like some from Microsoft which works just 1-1.5 meter. I even dont mention some A4Tech wireless ones.
For me most stable TEST version is last few weeks.
Good work Scawen
I have 1 comment thought.
Wouldnt be better to draw the track minimap somehow differently in the track selection menu.
If you run without any AA applied it makes a lot of edges on the minimap picture(pls see attachment).Looks to me a bit unpolished/unbalanced when the rest of the menu looks smooth.
what drivers you use now?
As I said I had already that problem with ATI 8500.Same behaviour.I really think its the ATI drivers isssue for every long time.
I remember its not 1st time ATI drivers made problem to LFS.A long time ago there was some huge performance drop with some line of ATI drivers. So guys with something like ATI X800 had 10FPS ooposite to usual 80FPS and more.Later drivers corrected.
I think it would very really nice if more guys who has ATI cards reported the lost of AA+AF in LFS on ATI(AMD) pages so it will get their attention.
I have now NVIDIA card and no problems with AA+AF si it must be really ATIs fault.
